Privacy Policy

This policy covers two separate things: the badhop.co.uk website, and the BadHop application itself. They collect different data, so they're explained separately below.

The website

This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes standard connection data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) as part of delivering the site and protecting it from abuse, this is infrastructure-level processing, not something we configure or access directly.

We don't run analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts on this site, and we don't set any non-essential cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the full detail on that.

If you email us, or use a mailto link on this site, we receive whatever you send in that email, your address and message content. We use this only to respond to you.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment details, name, and email address to complete the transaction, issue receipts, and generate your licence key. We don't receive or store your payment card details at any point. See Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy for how they handle that data.

We do receive your name, email address, and licence key details from Lemon Squeezy after a purchase, so we can provide support and, where relevant, verify licence ownership.

The BadHop application

BadHop's core monitoring functions, ping results, traceroute results, latency graphs, packet captures, do not collect, transmit, or share any of that data with us or any third party. It's generated and stored entirely on your own device.

To check trial status and validate a purchased licence key, the application contacts a licence validation service. This exchange is limited to your licence key (where one exists), a device identifier used to prevent licence-key sharing, and the application's version number. It does not include any of your monitoring data.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EU, you have the usual rights under UK GDPR / EU GDPR, to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Given how little we actually hold (mostly just what Lemon Squeezy passes us after a purchase), these requests are straightforward. Contact frazer@badhop.co.uk for any of this.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be reflected in the application's own End-User Licence Agreement where relevant.
